Fitness Class Descriptions

strength & cardio classes

Blast: This full-body, beat driven workout involves cardio work to increase your heart rate and resistance training to sculpt your muscles.

Boot Camp: This class will push your body past its limits to obtain the strength and endurance you deserve! Uses muscle confusion to keep your body guessing, which translates into faster results.

Forge: With elements of cardio, Forge is a strength building class that challenges your muscular endurance and transforms your body. Instructor will pay particular attention to form and technique.

Full Body Fitness: Challenges your body by performing a variety of methods of training using both equipment and body weight training.

Interval Training: Challenges the body with a variety of cardio and strength training techniques.

Kettlebell: Compound exercises work multiple muscle groups simultaneously, developing strength and muscular endurance and efficient calorie expenditure.

Outdoor Run Club: Participants will meet at the YMCA and run outdoors with instructor. Class will end with focused stretching. Class will be canceled in inclement weather.

PiYo: Music driven, athletic workout inspired by Yoga and Pilates that aimed at strength, balance and flexibility conditioning.

POUND: This full-body cardio jam session combines light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series.

Generation Pound: This class is a youth oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness and teamwork skills. This class is for ages 6-12 years old.

ReMix: Dance your way to better health with fun, upbeat songs mixed with strength training intervals.

SliverSneakers: Combine fun fitness to increase your cardio endurance. Class uses weights, chair and low impact cardio.

Strength & Stretch: Balance your workout with 30 minutes of Strength conditioning and 30 minutes of deep stretching.

Total Body Burn: Instructor will use a variety of equipment and techniques to ensure a true head to toe workout.

TurboKICK: Combine choreographed kickboxing moves with HIIT training for an unbelievable calorie burn.

Y-Fit: Through an instructor set workout at which you choose the level you are comfortable with, you build stamina and gain muscle definition.

Zumba: Shimmy and shake your booty to a Latin beat! Easy to follow, calorie burning dance moves.

3X3: A functional fitness class blending strength, balance and flexibility using weighted rings with variable resistance tension cords.


water classes

Aqua Fitness: Low-intensity, no-impact class that is invigorating, energetic and FUN! Water shoes recommended.


group cycling

Group Cycling: Ride on one of our state-of-the-art stationary bikes. This class will improve cardiovascular endurance, tone up the legs and bum, all while improving overall fitness. Please call to reserve a bike, 859-987-1395.


yoga

Yoga: This class will incorporate all three aspects of physical fitness: cardio, strength and stretching into one invigorating session.

SilverSneakers Yoga: This class will move your whole body through a complete range of motion. Chair support is offered.

Parent & Child Yoga: This class is for caregivers and children aged 2-5. Non members can attend for $5 per class Free to Y members.

Kidding Around Yoga: This class is for youth ages 6-12 Free for Y members Non members can attend for $5 per class
